What is the importance of confession?

What is the importance of confession?

One of the great things about grace and being forgiven is that I don’t need to talk about what I’ve done any longer. Right? Right?! Well, Scriptures talk a great deal of confession. But, why exactly do we need to confess if the Lord already knows? How important is this really? In this episode, Cameron and Dr. J tackle a few episode follow ups before jumping right into this confession thing. No, it’s not an episode where we air all our dirty laundry, but we will discover the freedom that is available when we confess our sins to one another and the Lord.

02:35 — Why does it seem like we don’t hear about miracles as often today?

05:53 — How can we discern authentic moves of God from the counterfeits?

06:48 — In a previous episode, we spent some talking through Scriptures on how God sees us. How should I view God?

09:07 — Who are Ananias and Sapphira? What’s their story?

10:25 — Why did God kill Ananias and Sapphira for lying? I mean, certainly, other people have lied and not been killed. Why would God kill two people for lying?

13:37 — What are some reasons we delay in admitting when we are wrong?

15:24 — How should we confess our sins? Is there a right or wrong way to do this? Should we confess everything?

18:48 — Why do we need to confess our sins if we’ve already been forgiven? Do we really need to keep asking for forgiveness?

20:37 — What is the danger of unconfessed sin? Like, will we have the same outcome as Ananias and Sapphira?

21:58 — Is there any sin God will not forgive?

26:16 — How do we begin to make that shift from caring what others might think of us to resting in who God says we are?
