What does it mean to be anointed?

What does it mean to be anointed?

I like a little oil on my salad. I put a different kind of oil in my car because it’s necessary. But, using oil in prayer and anointing people with it? What’s that all about? Well, in today’s episode Cameron and Dr. J will take a look at some questions you have been asking as you read through your Bible before diving into the topic of anointing. It’s a word we see through Scripture and you’ve probably heard in your church before, but what does it really mean? And, more specifically, what does it really mean for me?

02:51 — We read in 2 Corinthians 12:2, “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.” What is Paul talking about when he refers to the “third heaven”?

04:08 — How does someone know if they’re following a false teacher? Like, a lot of them might still be using the Bible, so how does one know truly if they are following one?

07:28 — Why do we see so many names of God in the Bible? Isn’t His name just God?

11:32 — We read in Luke 5:17, “And the power of the Lord was with Jesus…” What’s with this passage? Jesus IS Lord, so why does the author say the power of the Lord was with Jesus?

14:51 — What does it mean to be anointed?

15:31 — What’s the deal with anointing oil?

18:27 — What does it mean when someone might say they can “sense the anointing”? Like, how does one know if they are anointed?

19:24 — Are there different kinds of anointing or different purposes to the anointing?

21:16 — How does somebody receive the anointing of God?
